An Abundant Harvest
Magic Dirt!
LOL! Not really. That is just what we like to tell everyone. But really it is no secret at all. We use a mushroom compost that we found at our local lawn and garden supply. It is fairly inexpensive and we purchase it by the truck load. And it works miracles.
Mushroom compost is a slow release organic fertilizer that is great for amending the soil as well as helping to retain moisture, which is really helpful when our area is going through a hot summer dry spell. And because it is steam pasteurized, we don’t get the nuisance weeds growing in our garden. Now that makes this gardener really happy.
Just look at the yummy veggies we picked from the garden today. Check out the size of the zucchini and squash! That is what happens when we don’t comb through the garden and pick veggies every day. I can’t believe that I missed that one.
